Here we are, home.  Some feel “stuck” at home, some feel happy to be home, but either way you are probably looking at your 4 walls more than you ever thought possible. 

While homeschooling my 3 kids, I haven’t had a chance to dig into any new projects, I thought a look back at a few popular home DIY projects would be in order.  The question I get asked most often – how are they holding up?! Can be answered right here!

13 House Projects You Could Do in a Weekend

1. Paint your Front Door – 

An easy way to bring a face lift to your front porch – paint your door! Curb appeal in an afternoon 😉

2. Entry Closet Makeover –

Turn your entry closet into a mini mud room.  This drop zone has kept our entry way clean and organized!

3. Staircase Makeover –

Stain and paint make take these formerly carpeted stairs to a whole new level.  Simple hack for an inexpensive way to add a runner.

4. Custom Built-Ins

We love the look and function of our built in bookcases.  They aren’t very hard to build, and doing it yourself will save you lots of money!

5. Interior Painted Doors –

Painting your doors give instant character to a space.  Pick a fun color for something different, or stick to a neutral for a classic look. Also, changing those hinges and door handles make all the difference in the world!

6. Kitchen Table Makeover –

A thrift store furniture makeover may be in order.  Here’s how to give an old piece a beautiful (lasting) finish!

7. Paint an upholstered chair!

This is not recommended for a chair you already love, but if you have a chair with some outdated upholstery – this may be a good solution to save it from the curb.  

8. Re-Stained Bathroom (or Kitchen) Cabinets –

You know I love a good set of painted cabinets, but if you are looking for an updated wood look, this post is for you! Using water based stain, you can quickly update your cabinets to give them a whole new look.

9. Painted Bathroom Cabinets –

Painted bathroom cabinets are a quick and easy project.  This project is a great one if you are thinking about tackling your kitchen cabinets next.  Start with your bathroom and see how you do it. 

10. Painted Tile

A fun way to update tile you hate.  Not recommended for spaces with constant water, but for more of a decorative space – this is a great trick to have up your sleeve.

And one way to NOT paint a white dresser –

One fail… I tried a new product on my husband’s dresser.  It did not turn out the way I had hoped! Unfortunately the bleed through is getting worse over time, so we have a painted furniture fail.
